Emerald Coast Solar - How it all started and where it's headed.
In 2014, Jo-Anne and Tony departed the frigid wasteland of coastal British Columbia for the warm seaside town of Chuburna Puerto. The plan had been to pass the twilight years in idle bliss. Days spent navel contemplating by the pool, long walks along the beach, dinners with new friends and, generally, just enjoyably wasting time in relaxed retirement. However, such was not to be. Back in 2015 we had an idea. An idea that had little to do with solar. We were going to build vacation condos and make them as Earth friendly as possible. It was shortly after hatching this plan that Dave and Sheri joined us, as junior partners, in what is Beach Bums LTD.
With this in mind, we searched for the best deal on larger scale solar systems. We found the best deal was if we became certified as solar system installers. Once certified, friends wanted solar from us and Emerald Coast Solar came into existence. The business grew from there.
We started with no background and no client base - all we had was the certification as an installation company and, the idea to change the industry by providing a level of installation and after care service simply not available.
We also wanted to make a difference in our community. We are very proud of the success of our Shining A Light Charity Program, as well as our BECA Program.
From 2015 - 2021 we have installed close to 100 solar systems + many whole home and portable generators and, provided many other services for our clients.
Along the way, we have made many friends and have had a positive impact on the solar industry.
When we started there was no such thing as ongoing maintenance. Few companies offered any sort of after care, most just installed a system (if you were lucky) and moved onto the next, and the next, and the next.
We are proud to have been able to lead the way in providing dependable installations and superior after care service through our maintenance programs. Programs that many other companies are now offering in one form or another.
We continue to lead with superior installations, including our proprietary support system (producing the most power per square meter of solar panel available in a micro-inverter format) and our three levels of maintenance programs. Even offering an additional 15 years of warranty on the Enphase micro-inverters beyond the manufacture's coverage. Loaner panels, compensation for loss of production and more, remain only available from ECS maintenance programs as we continue to set the bar in after sales service.
As we move forward with ECS, we are committed to building on the success of our customer-first model by bringing that working model to the other products and services we are now offering.
Our goal is to provide the products and services that will work, in conjunction with solar, to provide the power necessary to run your entire home - both when the grid is working and when it is down.
We are taking a holistic approach to your home requirements and providing whole home solutions. These solutions are more than just solar, because there are more issues than just power production and delivery.
